New multilateral research project within ERA-IB (Dec 2012)
A third call for multilateral research projects using Industrial Biotechnology (IB) has been launched by ERA-IB in March 2012.
The main goal is to gather together academics and industrial researchers in the field of Industrial Biotechnology and encourage them to work across borders, thereby contributing to the entire value chain. Setting up partnerships should lead to joint research and development activities, through which sustainable alternatives to petroleum-based products can be realized.
Twelve projects out of thirty-three submissions are being recommended. The total budget for the resulting grants is approximately 18 million euros. Our group is part of the REACTIF consortium "Rational Engineering of Advanced Clostridia for Transformational Improvements in Fermentation".
